1 Divide the class in groups of four to six students. Ask them to shuffle the cards (baralhem as cartas) and to give out six each. 2 Explain that the objective is to collect all 4 cards belonging to a group. In turn, using Tem . . . ?, Queria . . . , Dê-me . . . and correct numbers and / or weights, learners ask one other person at a time for any items they want. If the question is accurate and that person has it, s/he has to give it away.
1 In pairs, ask your learners to imagine they are in a mercearia in Portugal and to act out the roles on their cards. One of them works in the mercearia and the other has a shopping list of things they need to buy. Give them time to read through their roles thoroughly and to think of what they will need to say. The shop assistant starts the conversation. 2 The shopper makes a note of the prices and, at the end of the conversation, checks them with the empregado/a's list.
